Beautiful Georgian / Victorian Antique Mahogany Cutlery Canteen Pot Cupboard / Bedside Table / Basin Base 

We specialise in hand painted and aged furniture and accessories, but sometimes we come across pieces that are just perfect as they are and this antique and rather unusual cutlery canteen cabinet is one of them. It has the sleek elegance of the Georgian era and at first glance you think it is a pot cupboard, but opening the top lids, a cutlery tray comes up from inside of the cabinet. We have not come across a cabinet like this before and have not been much successfulin  finding out any information about similar pieces.

It is in good antique condition, with some marks and dents etc, and there are a discrete cracks on the side panels etc that hardly gets picked up in the photos. We have left the original felt in the cutlery tray. It is rather worn, but can be easily replaced. Please see photos and we are happy to send you more photos if you so like.

We would think that that this cabinet is from the late Georgian era, but could also have been made in the Victorian time era. Use it as the cutlery cabinet that it is or use it as a bedside table, side table, hall table.

It would look amazing as a basin base. The cutlery tray moves up and down with the opening and shutting of the lids, so with the lids shut permanently in shut position, the tray can be used as a useful tray in the cupboard space. Underneath there is a handy drawer.
